Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has advised Pakistani cricketers to remain positive during the forthcoming home series against England. Talking to RLCA correspondent Asif Khan, Rashid termed batting the only worry for the home side, saying that the bowling is capable enough to claim twenty wickets.
Latif urged the cricket board to announce the probables for the series and also reveal a tentative batting order so that the players would be mentally prepared for the all important home series.
On England’s recent performance Rashid said no doubt they are on top of their game however conditions in Pakistan would definitely test their metal a great deal.
On a question about Australia, the former skipper said captaincy is the only problem with the world champions. He said Ricky Ponting hasn’t had a tough test during his tenure until the recent England trip. Recalling former skipper Steve Waugh, Latif said whenever a team is down they look towards their leader to guide them out of trouble and Steve used to do this regularly for Australia. Rashid however does not endorse the idea of replacing the captain, saying that Ponting would get better with experience.
